We are seeking a Commercial Roofing Estimator for our Tulsa, OK location.
The Estimator will be responsible for preparing cost estimates for roofing projects and services, as well as submitting bids to contractors and private clients. This role involves analyzing blueprints and other documentation to prepare detailed estimates of time, cost, materials, and labor. The Estimator will specialize in roofing services and specific types of roofing products.
In addition to estimation tasks, the Estimator will provide comprehensive support to sales and project teams by effectively communicating and responding to customer needs. Serving as a resource for these teams, the Estimator will offer information, answer questions, and assist local contacts with any concerns or issues.
Job Functions
- Plan, organize, and establish objectives and goals for duties assigned.
- Estimate job costs and submit proposals for review.
- Create/ request Show Drawings; Write submittal letters
- Obtain Product Data Sheets, Samples, etc.
- Utilize bid log to track own bids and total bids closed
- Ensure processes are followed from pre-bid until handoff meeting
- Draft proposals to General Contractors, private clients, and other customers
- Be accountable for your own goals, decisions, and bids.
- Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
- Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues
- Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
- Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors
- Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors

Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Essential)
- Proven experience in estimating construction sales.
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
- Proficiency in preparing bids using Excel and other estimating software.
- Ability to conduct take-offs and core cuts as needed.
- Comfortable with heights and capable of climbing ladders.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
- Previous experience in sales or estimating.
- Strong quality focus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, including the ability to handle difficult customers effectively.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheet programs, with strong analytical skills.
- Excellent documentation skills.
- Superior listening and communication skills.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions, read and comprehend short correspondence and policy documents, and converse comfortably with associates.
