Level 2 Ironworkers are responsible for being an effective member of a Steel crew to complete daily production goals.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Ability to operate equipment (e.g., scissor and boom lifts).
Good knowledge and ability to use all required tools for the job.
Basic knowledge of blueprints.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be dependable and show up to work each day.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and in adverse conditions.
Must be willing to learn new trades and skills.
Must be willing to travel occasional.
Able to work on elevated surfaces.
Bilingual (Spanish) preferred, but not required.
Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds, and up to 90 pounds of material with assistance.
Stamina to walk, stoop, kneel, reach, climb and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
Analyze information and evaluate problems.
Ability to work and communicate with others.
Fabricate or alter parts at construction sites, using shears, hammers, punches, or drills.
Drill and punch holes in metal for screws, bolts, and rivets.
Connect steel mainframes and columns.
Using tag line, guides members in place then uses hand tools to pry, push, and pull the members into place so that the connections can be made up.
Lay out, positioning and securing of materials and work pieces during installation.
Bolting, welding, and cutting material as needed.
Load, transports and unloads material, tools and equipment and supplies.
Perform minor maintenance or cleaning activities of tools and equipment.
Prepare material prior to assembly.
Working from mobile elevated work platforms and operating them.
Familiarity with hand and power tools (hammers, levels & squares, circular saws, impact drills).
Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedules.
Maneuver units into position for installation and anchor the units.
Cut and weld metal sections using metal shears, torches, and welding equipment.

Ability to work various hours/schedules.

Ability to lift/carry 75+ lbs.
Ability to climb a 40+ft ladder.
Ability to stand on feet and sit on knees for long periods of time.
Must be able to pass pre-employment physical, agility test, and drug screen.
Experience:
Structure construction background is required (i.e., wood framing, structural steel, post, and beam, etc.).
Working Conditions:
The position will be performed outdoors, and weather conditions will be a huge factor as work will occur in the heat, cold, rain, snow, etc.
This position will be exposed to dusty and dirty conditions as well as hazardous materials.
Work is done at elevated surface levels.
Some work will be performed in an ariel lift.
Physical Demands:
Ability to use hand and power tools.
Ability to lift 75 lbs.
Ability to climb a 40+ft ladder.
Ability to stand on feet and kneel for long periods of time, 12+ hours.
Ability to work on elevated levels.
Ability to work in dusty/dirty conditions.
Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (heat/cold).
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time nonexempt position. Hours of work and start times vary depending on the season. This position has supervisory responsibilities.
